For the combinations in this guide, use the exact Bugaboo Canada adapter page that names the stroller generation and Nuna seat; 'Bugaboo-compatible' alone is insufficient. In the combinations directly confirmed below, the current Canadian PIPA and PIPA Lite have several supported paths; PIPA urbn is not listed on those Bugaboo Canada adapter pages.
PIPA urbn's integrated rigid UAS connectors are vehicle-installation hardware; Bugaboo adapter pages separately determine stroller compatibility. For stroller use, the carrier still needs a Bugaboo adapter and an explicit listing for that stroller generation and seat model.
Use the intersection, not either list alone
A valid setup sits at the intersection of three current identifiers:
- the Bugaboo stroller model and generation;
- the exact Bugaboo adapter product page or part number;
- the exact Canadian Nuna infant-seat model.
The map below includes only combinations directly named on the cited Bugaboo Canada adapter pages.
For a used stroller, ask for a clear photograph of its model label before buying an adapter. Identify a bundled adapter independently by its product number; ownership history does not prove it came with that frame. Keep the current compatibility page, adapter instructions and receipt together so another caregiver can reconstruct the approved setup.

Absence is not an invitation to substitute a similar model. It means this current official page does not support the combination. Ask Bugaboo to confirm a newer matrix if your exact seat or stroller is missing, and keep that confirmation with the product records.
What “not listed” does and does not mean
“Not listed” is not a claim that a combination can never be approved. It is a purchasing stop based on the current evidence available to the caregiver. Bugaboo may test a newer seat or release a generation-specific adapter later. Until a current Canadian source names the combination, there is no supported setup to recommend.
This distinction keeps the guide fair to both brands. Nuna's statement that PIPA works with appropriate adapters does not determine which Bugaboo adapter is appropriate. Bugaboo owns that cross-brand connection list, so its exact seat and stroller matrix controls the answer.
Butterfly and Butterfly 2 are different answers
The Butterfly adapter page contains an unusually clear generation boundary: adapter 100045MI works with the 2022 Butterfly and is not compatible with Butterfly 2. A listing that says only “Butterfly adapter” can therefore be materially incomplete.
Before buying used, find the stroller label and identify which Butterfly you own. Then identify the adapter as 100045MI and confirm the seat name. Bugaboo Canada's page lists Nuna PIPA and PIPA Lite among compatible seats; PIPA urbn is not listed. Do not solve a Butterfly 2 mismatch by forcing the older adapter into place.
Dragonfly: one family, named generations
Bugaboo's Canadian page for adapter 400003MI names Dragonfly and Dragonfly Plus as compatible stroller products. Its seat list includes Nuna PIPA and PIPA Lite. That is a complete direct intersection for those two current Canadian seats.
Keep the adapter's left and right pieces together and follow Bugaboo's instructions for orientation. A pair from another stroller family may have a similar two-post form without being the same product. The part number is more reliable than shape.
Donkey: choose the configuration before the adapter
Donkey adds a second variable because Mono/Duo and Twin use different adapter products. For Donkey 5 Mono or Duo, MI000615 lists PIPA and PIPA Lite. For Donkey 5 Twin, MI000616 lists PIPA and PIPA Lite. These remain separate adapter purchases.
Do not buy the Twin set merely because the stroller may carry two children. The intended configuration and number of infant carriers determine the adapter. Build the whole setup on paper: stroller generation, Mono/Duo/Twin mode, each occupant's product, and every required adapter. Then check weight, position and combination instructions in the stroller manual.
Bugaboo's current product selectors may show later Donkey products around these pages, but the seat-level evidence cited here names Donkey 5. A Donkey 6 owner should obtain a current direct compatibility answer for the exact adapter and Nuna seat rather than inheriting the Donkey 5 row.
Fox 5 and Fox 5 Renew: a narrower Nuna result
The Canadian page for adapter 400019MI lists PIPA Lite for Fox 5 and Fox 5 Renew. It does not list the current Canadian PIPA or PIPA urbn in those Fox rows. This is a good example of why “PIPA series” cannot be inserted where Bugaboo names one seat.
The same page title mentions Kangaroo, but a broad title is not enough to transfer the Fox seat matrix to a Kangaroo setup. Use Bugaboo's current Kangaroo-specific compatibility information before buying for that stroller.
What about Bugaboo models not in the map?
Bugaboo Canada's legacy Ant adapter page lists PIPA Lite for Bugaboo Ant. That can help an owner maintaining a legacy setup, but it does not make Ant a current-stroller recommendation and it does not broaden support to PIPA or PIPA urbn.
For a Bugaboo stroller not named in the table, do not infer compatibility from another generation. Use only the exact current Canadian adapter page that names both the stroller and seat; if no such page is available, leave that pairing off the shortlist.
The empty-carrier connection test
- Apply the stroller brake and remove components that the adapter instructions say to remove.
- Match every adapter piece to the product diagram and install it in the specified side and orientation.
- Check the adapter's engagement with the frame before adding the carrier.
- Attach the empty carrier in the permitted direction. Confirm every audible, visual and pull-test check specified by Bugaboo.
- Check clearance around the frame, handlebar, canopy, seat and any second-child position.
- Practise releasing the carrier while the stroller remains braked. Never fold with the carrier attached.
A carrier sitting level is not proof that it is locked. Equally, a click is not proof that the adapter matches the generation. Product identity comes first; the physical lock check comes second.
Buying the infant seat and stroller as a system
If the Bugaboo stroller is already fixed, let the exact compatibility row narrow the infant-seat shortlist. If the PIPA model is fixed, compare only Bugaboo generations with a directly listed adapter path. This avoids buying two individually suitable products connected by an unsupported part.
Also keep vehicle installation separate. The PIPA, PIPA Lite and PIPA urbn have different Canadian vehicle-installation rules. Follow each Nuna seat's Canadian manual for vehicle installation regardless of the stroller and adapter selected.
