Vessi Waterproof Footwear in Canada
Born on Canada’s wet Pacific coast, Vessi was founded in 2018 by three Vancouverites who wanted waterproof footwear to feel as comfortable and easy to wear as an everyday sneaker. The brand designs its products in Vancouver around four practical pillars: waterproof protection, lightweight comfort, durability and all-day wearability.
Waterproof technology built into the knit
At the centre of Vessi footwear is patented Dyma-tex™ technology. Instead of relying on a temporary waterproof spray or surface coating, the protection is engineered directly into the knit. Thousands of nano-sized pores are designed to keep water droplets out while allowing heat and moisture to escape, helping Vessi footwear stay waterproof without the heavy, rigid feel of a traditional rain boot.
Made for everyday Canadian weather
Vessi creates versatile footwear for rainy commutes, wet playgrounds, travel, daily errands and changing seasonal conditions. Different silhouettes offer different levels of coverage, cushioning, traction and warmth, so the best choice depends on where the footwear will be used, how much walking is involved and the fit you prefer. Waterproof material keeps water from passing through the upper, but water can still enter through the shoe opening if it rises above the collar.

Vessi states that its products are PFAS-free and vegan, including the glue used in production. Its waterproof performance comes from the engineered construction of Dyma-tex™ rather than a PFAS-based chemical spray. Are Vessi shoes waterproof or only water-resistant?
