01 / The transition
From a walk to the next thing.
Think about the part of an outing that happens after the walk: a lift into the car, a pause at the front door, or finding somewhere to put the stroller while you get settled. KONA's one-hand fold is designed to work with the seat attached in either direction. You do not have to turn a parent-facing seat around just to begin that fold.
Watch how KONA closes and sits beside the person carrying it. At the event, take your time with the release, grip and lift. The useful question is how that movement feels when you repeat it.
A better lift test: compare the movement with the lift you actually make at home. A low hallway shelf and a higher car boot are different tasks. Bring a measurement of your storage opening or boot entrance, including the narrowest point, and ask to compare it with the folded demonstration stroller.
02 / The view
Face each other.
Or face the day.
KONA's seat can face the parent or face forwards. The recline adjusts through four positions with one hand, and the handlebar also adjusts. That gives you more than one setting to explore, rather than asking everyone in the family to adapt to a single fixed position.
Start with the seat facing you. Stand where you would normally push, and notice your view of the seat and your reach to the handle. Then ask for a forward-facing demonstration. If two adults will regularly use the stroller, both should try the handlebar rather than relying on one person's impression.
The extendable canopy is rated UPF 50+ and includes ventilation and a peekaboo window. Try the canopy fully extended, then look through the window from your pushing position. Check how easily you can open the ventilation as part of the demonstration.
UPPAbaby's US product listing gives a maximum child weight of 50 lb (22.7 kg) and height of 40 in (101.6 cm). For a growing toddler, also look at the room around the shoulders and legs when comparing the seat positions. For a new baby, ask to see the appropriate newborn setup.
03 / The everyday load
Room for the things that come along.
The basket is part of KONA's appeal as an everyday stroller, with a capacity of up to 30 lb (13.6 kg). Think about your usual combination: a changing bag, an extra layer and the small things picked up along the way. Try loading your bag through the opening before deciding how the space works for you.
Bring the bag you actually use if it is convenient. Look at the opening, where its handles land and how you would reach a small item without unloading everything else. If you usually carry a structured changing bag, its shape can matter as much as its weight.
KONA's slim footprint is designed around city doorways, elevators and tighter spaces. At home, measure the narrowest part of your route as well as the storage space. Turning into a hallway can be a different challenge from rolling straight through a doorway.
UPPAbaby lists a 22-lb (10 kg) frame. Compare the complete setup you will carry, including the seat or other attachment. KONA is designed to accept a compatible UPPAbaby bassinet or infant car seat directly, without separate adapters. That makes the attachment system worth seeing as well as the stroller seat.
