For frequent car loading or shallow storage, start with Breez: its published folded package is smaller in all three dimensions, and its matching bassinet can fold on the chassis. Reef 2 is worth the larger package when its rear-slider head-support and harness adjustment, or its 39-to-44-inch handle range, suits you particularly well. Those specific features are its reason to remain in this comparison, not an assumption that a larger stroller must be better.
For a first main stroller, compare two separate situations: the configuration you want for your newborn and the regular-seat configuration you will use afterwards. A stroller that stores neatly with its seat attached has not automatically answered where a bassinet will go. Likewise, a convenient early setup is not enough if the later stroller is awkward in the car you use every day.
The size difference is clearest when they are folded
The current Canadian specifications give the following dimensions for Reef 2 and Breez. Keep the stated axes and weight exclusions attached to the figures; a bare chassis or differently equipped package is not the same comparison.
| Measurement | Reef 2 | Breez |
|---|---|---|
| Open width | 23.5 in | 22.05 in |
| Open depth | 33 in | 27.96 in |
| Folded width | 23.5 in | 22.05 in |
| Folded depth | 19 in | 12.9 in |
| Folded height | 29 in | 25.9 in |
| Published weight | 26.5 lb, excluding bumper bar | 22.6 lb, excluding arm bar and seat liner |
Breez is 1.45 inches narrower in the published measurements, but the 6.1-inch difference in folded depth may be more consequential in a shallow storage space. A hallway cupboard that comfortably accepts both widths might still have room for only one of the folded depths. This is why comparing one “compactness” score is less helpful than finding the dimension that constrains your home.
The width difference does not guarantee that one will pass through a difficult entrance. Measure the clear opening rather than the nominal door width, then consider any turn immediately beyond it. In a car, check the loading opening as well as the floor. A package that fits once inside is not useful if you cannot comfortably move it through the opening.
Do not read the weight row as a precise 3.9 lb difference between fully equipped strollers. The listed exclusions are not identical. It does establish different starting weights, but compare the exact units with the parts you expect to leave attached before deciding how much easier either will be to lift.
Decide whether you need the stroller to stay in one piece
Reef 2 offers a self-standing fold with its seat attached. Breez also has a one-hand, self-standing fold and includes a shoulder carry strap. If you fold the stroller after every outing, these are features to handle in person when possible: the release, the folded grip and the place where you set the package all matter.

A one-piece fold is particularly relevant when there is nowhere convenient to place a detached seat during loading. If you park beside a narrow curb or have little clear floor at the entrance, fewer separate pieces can be valuable. If the stroller normally stays open in a level storage area, you may rarely benefit from a smaller fold and can give more attention to the walking arrangement.
Now repeat the space decision for the newborn configuration
Both Canadian product pages describe newborn use in a lie-flat, parent-facing seat configuration. That is a specific setup, not permission to use any recline position. The Reef 2 manual requires the most reclined position for a newborn and a foot-end barrier in reclined carriage positions. The Breez manual likewise specifies the restraint and foot-end barrier for reclined carriage use. Follow the complete model instructions rather than treating “lie-flat” as the whole setup.
If you prefer a bassinet configuration for outings, each stroller has its own matching option. Compare that configuration as a separate storage purchase. It has a different shape, different handling and its own instructions. The folded stroller dimensions in the table should not be used as measurements for a stroller with its bassinet attached.
Breez's Compact Bassinet can fold while attached to the chassis. Reef 2's First Bed Folding Bassinet lifts off the frame with one hand and folds flat into its base. That is a useful separate-component storage feature, not a promise that the combined stroller has Breez's attached-bassinet fold.
That distinction can decide the purchase for a family repeatedly putting a bassinet-stage stroller into a car. Ask to see the complete configuration folded and where each component goes. If keeping the bassinet with the chassis is your specific requirement, Breez has the directly stated feature. If separate component storage is acceptable, compare Reef 2 without assuming that the extra handling is either trivial or disqualifying.
Seat height and handle height solve different problems
Breez has a two-position elevation system and a four-position adjustable handlebar. Reef 2 has an adjustable handle with a published height range of 39 to 44 inches. Both have reversible seats. The elevation feature is worth looking at separately from the handle: raising the child's position is not the same adjustment as changing where your hands rest.
For caregivers of different heights, compare the handle positions each person actually prefers. Do not choose from adult height alone or assume the highest setting will always be most comfortable. The space for your stride, the angle of your wrists and the way you reach the stroller are personal fit questions that a maximum-height number cannot settle.
Breez's elevation system is the more relevant feature if bringing the seat closer is a priority. Reef 2's stated handle range is useful if you already know the height at which you like to push. Neither specification substitutes for the other: a higher seat does not necessarily put the handle where your hands need it.
Reef 2 has another concrete feature to compare: its integrated head support and harness adjust with a sliding mechanism at the rear of the seat. If that arrangement is easier for you to reach and adjust, it gives Reef 2 a practical reason to remain on the shortlist beyond appearance. Compare it with Breez's harness controls; do not mistake an easier adjustment for a higher safety rating.
Which wheels fit your route?
Both models have four-wheel suspension. Reef 2 is described with large puncture-proof multi-terrain wheels; Breez uses Silver Cross's RideTech wheels. These are features to compare, not evidence that one stroller will be smoother on every surface or that either will remove bumps from a walk.
If the route is what keeps you undecided, try both on the same permitted demonstration surface when possible. Focus on the part you find difficult: a turn, a rough patch or the transition into the building. Do not infer performance on snow, sand or a steep route from how easily a stroller rolls across a showroom floor. Nor should the larger stroller win automatically because it looks more substantial.
Breez also has a modest published cargo advantage. Its North American manual section permits 22 lb in the basket; the Canadian Reef 2 manual specifies 20 lb. That two-pound difference gives no basis for choosing the larger Reef 2 simply to gain a higher basket load limit. Bag shape and access still determine whether the items you want to carry fit.
Make the final choice without buying an unnecessary bundle
Shortlist Breez first if its smaller published fold clears a real storage limit, or if folding with the matching bassinet attached is important to your early outings. Then make sure you like the seat and handle arrangement you will use after that stage.
Keep Reef 2 on the shortlist if its larger folded envelope fits easily and you prefer its rear-slider head-support and harness adjustment or its handle arrangement. Its reversible seat and attached-seat fold let it remain a practical contender; the extra storage requirement only becomes a drawback when it creates a problem in your routine.
Compare the Reef 2 stroller and Breez stroller first, then the exact bassinet packages in the Silver Cross collection if you need them. Confirm included parts and expected fulfilment for the selected configuration. The right main stroller should make sense both at the beginning and after the newborn component is no longer part of the outing.
