An OmieBox securing insert, divider and OmieDip solve three different packing problems. The insert holds the thermos in position, the divider separates solid foods, and the lidded dip container carries a small sauce or wet side. Buying all three is unnecessary when only one job is missing.
This guide covers accessories for the redesigned OmieBox Version 2, not the original box or OmieBox UP. Identify the box with OmieLife's front-logo selector before choosing a replacement.
The thermos moves when the lid turns
Look for the Version 2 securing insert: a square-edged piece with a large round opening. It is not another food container. The maker describes its job as holding the thermos in place so the lid can be turned while the vessel remains inside the box.
A replacement is useful when that original part is missing or damaged. An extra insert does not increase thermos capacity, add another compartment or replace the round thermos-lid gasket. If the box already has its correct, intact insert, this purchase adds no new packing function.
OmieLife's assembly instructions say to turn the securing insert clockwise around the thermos; skip that step when the thermos will not be placed inside OmieBox. Follow the complete assembly directions rather than pushing a loose part into an approximate position.
Two solid foods need separate space
The Version 2 divider is the small rigid partition. It changes the size of a tray section, useful when crackers and carrot sticks need their own areas but neither needs a separate sealed pot.
The important limit is liquid, not colour coordination. OmieLife explicitly says that the divider's subsections are not leakproof from one another. A divider is therefore the wrong purchase for salad dressing, runny yogurt or sauce that must stay away from another food. It organizes the existing tray; it does not turn the tray into several sealed containers.
Remove or reposition the divider when a larger solid item needs the space. If the existing compartments already separate the meal adequately, there is no reason to add another partition.
A sauce needs its own lid
Choose OmieDip when the missing job is a small lidded container. The current OmieDip page describes a two-container set for sauces, dips and yogurt, with 95 ml capacity per container. It is designed to fit the redesigned OmieBox, and the maker excludes both the original box and OmieBox UP.
A dip pot uses space that would otherwise hold food directly in the tray. That is a sensible trade when separating dressing matters; it is less useful when lunch is entirely dry finger food. Decide whether the extra lid solves a real problem before filling every compartment with accessories.
The dip container is not an insulated thermos. For temperature handling and the rest of the lunch system, use the OmieBox food-zone and care guide.
The cleaning jobs differ too
- Securing insert: OmieLife specifies hand washing only.
- Divider: hand washing is recommended; remove it for cleaning after each use.
- OmieDip: the exact dip-container instructions permit dishwasher cleaning. That permission does not extend to the whole OmieBox.
Replace the missing function, not every small piece in the photograph. An insert stabilizes the thermos, a divider organizes solids, and a dip pot gives sauce its own lid. The lunch-box selection lets you choose that specific part without rebuilding an otherwise useful lunch kit.
