LUNCH BOXES

Start with what your child will eat, then choose the container and the bag that carries it. Compare divided lunch boxes, stackable containers and smaller snack or dip containers at baby enRoute. Lunch bags are a separate part of the setup, not a substitute for a food container.

Match the format to the meal

• Sandwiches and mixed snacks: compare compartment dimensions and removable dividers, not just the total capacity.
• Wet foods or hot meals: check which sections are designed for that food. A seal for yoghurt or dips does not automatically make every compartment suitable for liquids or hot food.
• Smaller portions: consider separate snack containers when you do not need a full lunch box. Check whether they fit inside the main box or must travel beside it.

How do I know the lunch box will fit the lunch bag?

Compare the container's outside dimensions, including handles and its closed height, with the bag's usable interior. Allow space for any ice pack, utensils and separate containers you plan to carry. Explore lunch bags once you know the container size.

Which opening style should I choose for school?

Consider whether your child can manage the latch, screw lid or stacked sections independently. Practise opening and closing the complete setup at home, including any smaller containers, rather than choosing by capacity alone.

Can I wash every part together?

Check the care instructions for the box, tray, seal and any insulated insert separately. Dishwasher and microwave permissions can differ between components and generations. A removable tray does not mean the outer case has the same care instructions.
