The current Ergobaby Omni Deluxe manual permits front inward carry from 7–45 lb with a minimum height of 20 inches, outward carry from five months and 14–30 lb with strong, consistent head and neck control, and hip or back carry from six months and 17–45 lb using the manual’s position setup.
What the numbers change
Choose Mini when the main job is simple early-month carrying and the child fits its current instructions. Choose Omni Deluxe when the family values a longer published range or later hip/back options and is willing to learn more adjustments. Neither model’s maximum tells you that the carrier will fit every wearer or remain preferred for every outing.
Run the same fit test on both
- Bring the child’s current height and weight.
- Set each carrier from its own manual, not from the other model.
- Have every regular caregiver put it on, place the child and remove the child.
- Check face visibility, chin position and airway through a short walk and seated transition.
