Size Chart — Body Measurements

These are body measurements, not finished garment dimensions. Measure without pulling the tape tight, and allow room for the layers you plan to wear.

The North Face sizing reference
Size Chest (in) Waist (in) Hips (in)
XS 31–32 24–25 33–35
S 33–35 26–28 36–37
M 36–38 29–31 38–40
L 39–41 32–34 41–43
XL 42–44 35–38 44–47
XXL / 2XL 45–48 39–42 48–51

How to measure: Measure chest around the fullest part, waist at the natural waist, and hips at the fullest point. Inch measurements can be converted to centimetres by multiplying by 2.54.

XXL and 2XL refer to the same size in this chart. XXS and 3XL are not covered by the measurements shown; do not extrapolate from the neighbouring size.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a waterproof shell?

Yes. It uses breathable, seam-sealed DRYVENT™ 2.5L fabric with a water-repellent finish.

Can it pack into itself?

Yes. The jacket packs into its right hand pocket.

Can the hood and hem be adjusted?

Yes. Both have cinch-cord adjustments.

How should I check the fit before ordering?

Compare the body measurements in the size chart with your current measurements. The chart describes the wearer, not the garment; the stated fit and your planned layers affect how the item feels.

What care instructions should I follow?

Follow the care label supplied with this item. Washing and drying methods depend on the fabric, finish and any insulation, so check that label before cleaning.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer price matching?

Yes. If a qualifying online retailer or a local competitor sells the same item for less within 14 days of it being available to you, we'll match the price.

  • Pickup orders: the 14 days start when your order is marked Ready for Pickup.
  • Shipped orders: the 14 days start on the delivery date shown by the carrier.
  • Amazon: only when the seller is the brand itself or an authorized seller. Marketplace and third-party listings, and coupons we can't verify, don't qualify.

Email online@babyenroute.ca with your order number and a link to the lower price. Every request is reviewed by our team. Full details: Refund & Price Match Policy.

How long does delivery take?

In-stock orders usually leave our warehouse within 1-2 business days. Most Canadian orders then arrive in 3-7 business days, depending on where you live. We ship with Canada Post, UPS, FedEx and Purolator. Pre-order and backorder items ship once they arrive, and we email you an estimated date.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on eligible regular-size orders of $100 or more (before taxes) to Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

  • Not included: oversized items, furniture and express shipping.
  • Orders to New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut pay regular shipping rates.

The exact cost is shown at checkout. More: Shipping & Delivery.

What is your return policy?

Most items can be returned within 14 days of receipt if they are new, unused and in the original box with all packaging.

  • Final sale: sale items, furniture, car seats, strollers, electronics, mattresses, pillows, swimwear, bedding, diapers, food, toys and plush.
  • Not returnable: feeding products, breast pumps, bath and diapering accessories, lotions, potty seats, wipes and undergarments.
  • Return shipping is paid by the customer. Store purchases go back to the same store.
