Frequently Asked Questions
Does ROYL provide a rear-facing mode?
No. ROYL begins with forward-facing harness use for a child who is at least 2 years old and 30 lb. Younger or smaller riders should remain in an appropriate rear-facing restraint.
When can ROYL be used as a high-back booster?
Booster mode begins at age 4 and 40 lb, for children 38–57 in tall. Follow the Canadian manual and keep using the harness while it remains the appropriate fit within its stated limits.
When must I switch from UAS to a vehicle-belt installation?
In harness mode, the UAS-and-tether installation is limited to 40 lb. For a heavier child within the 65 lb harness limit, follow the approved vehicle-belt-and-tether installation. The harness height limit remains 49 in.
Can the headrest and leg rest adjust as my child grows?
Yes. ROYL has eight headrest positions, four recline positions and an adjustable leg rest. Follow the manual to select the correct fit for the current mode.
Can I remove the harness to wash it?
No. The harness system cannot be removed. Clean it with a cloth and warm soapy water, then air-dry; follow the manual for the removable cover and pads.
Care & Use
Follow the seat-cover label for washing the cover and harness pads. Do not remove the harness system or buckle. Clean the harness with a cloth and warm soapy water, then air-dry.
Wipe the shell and buckle with a damp cloth and towel-dry the shell. Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, and do not iron the covers or pads.
