This product has been manufactured by deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals with the aim of reducing reliance on substances that are harmful to the environment and health. PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties. deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.

FAQ

What body-height range is the Schmusebär designed for?

Deuter lists a recommended body-height range of 98–130 cm. The pack holds 8 L, so the height range and the child’s normal carry list should both be checked before choosing it.

Can a drink bottle be kept outside the main compartment?

Yes. The Schmusebär has elastic side pockets, and the official product imagery shows a bottle carried in one side pocket. Deuter does not state a maximum bottle diameter.

Does the Schmusebär include a place for the child’s name?

Yes. The official open-pack image shows a dedicated name panel inside the lid area, allowing the owner’s name to be added without using the exterior graphic panel.
