PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties. deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.

Deuter lists the Pico for ages 2 and up and a recommended body-height range of 92–98 cm. Its capacity is 5 L, so buyers should compare that compact volume with the child’s usual nursery, kindergarten, or short-outing carry list.
Can a drink bottle be carried outside the Pico’s main compartment?
Yes. The Pico has two elastic side pockets, and the official product imagery shows a bottle carried in one of them. Deuter does not publish a maximum bottle diameter, so check the chosen bottle against the pocket opening.
