The UPPAbaby Mira and CYBEX Lemo 2 are both usable as floor bouncers, but only one is designed to become part of a larger chair system. Choose the CYBEX Lemo 2 Bouncer when mounting the seat on a Lemo Chair at table height is a real part of the plan. Choose the UPPAbaby Mira 2-in-1 Bouncer and Seat when a self-contained seat that folds flat, travels in its own bag and later becomes a low toddler chair is the better fit.
The Lemo does not require a high chair for basic use: the current package includes its own floor stand. The chair-mounted route is optional and requires both a compatible Lemo 2 Chair and the Lemo 2 Bouncer Adapter Set. That extra path is valuable for a household already committed to Lemo, but it is unnecessary spending if the seat will always stay at floor level.
The two buying paths
Mira keeps the whole job in one product
UPPAbaby lists Mira at 8 pounds and 28.5 inches long by 16.3 inches wide by 22.6 inches high when open. It has three recline positions, folds flat with an integrated carry handle and includes a storage bag. There is no chair frame or adapter purchase to plan around.
Its two stages are separated by development, not just weight. In bouncer mode, the current model 1801-MIR manual starts use at 8 pounds and ends it when the baby begins trying to sit up or reaches 20 pounds, whichever comes first. The lowest recline has a lower 15.5-pound maximum; the middle and highest positions allow up to 20 pounds. For a newborn over 8 pounds who has not established head and neck control, the manual requires the lowest position.
Chair mode begins only when the child can walk and sit independently. In that stage, the manual allows use up to 29 pounds, specifies the highest recline and says not to use the restraint system. Reversing the fabric creates the toddler seat. The 29-pound figure is therefore not the infant-bouncer limit.
Mira is the clearer storage choice when the seat must disappear under a bed, behind a door or into a vehicle between uses.
Lemo includes a stand, then opens a second system route
Listed by CYBEX Canada as the Gold Bouncer, the package includes the bouncer nest, newborn inlay, head hugger, restraint system, floor stand and user guide. On its stand, it is a complete product rather than an incomplete high-chair accessory. The current Canadian product page lists a 7.9-pound product weight and a 24-by-17.3-inch floor footprint, with height changing from 18.1 to 21.7 inches across its two recline positions.
CYBEX's current configuration guide gives the chair-mounted bouncer a 20-pound maximum and the stand-mounted path a 33-pound maximum. Its warning booklet adds the milestones that matter before those maximums: stop infant-bouncer use when the baby starts trying to sit up or reaches 20 pounds, whichever comes first. Later child-chair use on the stand begins only when the child can sit and walk unassisted; use the upright position, remove the harness and stop at 33 pounds. Weight alone does not bridge the interval between those two stages.
For table-height use, the bouncer nest attaches to a compatible Lemo 2 Chair with the separately sold Lemo 2 Bouncer Adapter Set. CYBEX's adapter page confirms that the set includes the bouncer adapters and rear leg extensions. Neither the chair nor the adapter set is included in the standalone bouncer box.
This is where Lemo earns its system premium. It can start as a low floor bouncer, move to the Lemo Chair for supervised family-table time within the chair-mounted limit, then return to its own stand for the later child-seat stage. Buy that path only if the household genuinely wants the Lemo Chair; the floor stand already covers standalone bouncing.
The bouncer is not the next high-chair stage
Mounting the bouncer on a Lemo Chair covers the early chair-mounted stage only. It does not convert the bouncer nest into the supported upright seat used when a baby is ready for a high chair. CYBEX lists the chair-mounted bouncer from birth to about six months with a 20-pound maximum.
For the next feeding stage, the Lemo 2 High Chair 3-in-1 Set combines the Lemo Chair, Baby Set and tray. CYBEX lists this configuration from about six months, but readiness to sit upright independently is the deciding gate, not age alone. The chair-only package is listed for standalone chair use from about three years. A family starting with the bouncer should therefore decide whether it later needs the 3-in-1 components, not assume that buying a bare Lemo Chair completes every child stage.
Floor space is almost a draw; storage is not
The two standalone footprints are closer than their designs suggest. Mira is 28.5 inches long and 16.3 inches wide. Lemo is 24 inches long and 17.3 inches wide. Lemo saves 4.5 inches front to back, while Mira is one inch narrower. Both still need a clear floor position away from traffic, pets and older-child play.
The bigger difference appears after use. Mira folds flat and has a carry handle and bag. Lemo uses a one-click connection and can be disassembled for storage, but its system advantage adds separate pieces if you also own the chair and adapter set. A small home may prefer Mira's single flat package; a dining area with a permanent Lemo Chair may benefit more from the mount-and-stand flexibility.
Both are awake-time seats
Health Canada says bouncers are not safe sleep spaces. If a baby falls asleep, move them to a crib, cradle or bassinet that meets current Canadian requirements. Product language such as “relax,” “lounge” or a lower recline does not change that boundary.
Mira's manual is explicit: use it on the floor, secure the restraint in bouncer mode, stay near and watch the baby, never carry the product with the baby inside and stop bouncer use at the first stated milestone. Apply the same awake-and-supervised rule to Lemo in both locations. Mounting the bouncer at table height does not turn it into a sleep surface or substitute for active supervision.
Choose from the purchases you actually want
- Choose Lemo 2 if you already own or deliberately want a compatible Lemo Chair and will use the table-height bouncer configuration. Budget and store space for the chair, adapter set and included floor stand as separate components.
- Choose Lemo 2 as a standalone seat if its shorter front-to-back footprint and 33-pound stand-mounted path matter, but do not buy the chair simply because the bouncer is compatible with it.
- Choose Mira if a flat fold, integrated handle, included bag and a clearly separated toddler-chair mode solve more problems than table-height compatibility. Confirm current availability for the exact model and finish first.
- Choose neither if the main need is a place for sleep, unattended containment or use on a counter, table, bed or sofa.
The most economical decision is not automatically the seat with fewer possible configurations. It is the one that avoids buying an unused path. Mira is a complete fold-and-store route. Lemo is also complete on its stand, with a meaningful expansion path for families who already want the Lemo furniture system. Browse baby furniture and home seating with that distinction settled before comparing colours or accessories.
