Minu V3 vs V2: set your upgrade threshold
A Minu V2 owner has two practical reasons to consider V3: the smaller folded box may clear a storage constraint, and the V3 seat adds a from-birth carriage mode. The published weight changes only from 16.9 to 16.7 lb, while both baskets hold 20 lb. If the V2 already fits your car and home and your current newborn setup is complete, the specifications do not create an automatic upgrade.

Write an actual threshold in the last column. A smaller number on a specification sheet matters only when it crosses a limit in your routine.
Storage fit: measure the space you use
- Measure the opening first. Record the clear width and height of the trunk, closet or shelf opening after handles, lips and fixed cargo are accounted for.
- Measure the resting space. Record the usable length, width and height in the orientation you will actually load or store the stroller. If you plan to rotate it, test that orientation rather than assuming it will turn inside the space.
- Mark each generation pass or fail. V3 is a storage upgrade when V2 fails a required dimension and V3 clears it with enough room for your hands. If both fit, the smaller fold is not solving that problem.
Against the published V2 fold, V3 is 2 in shorter in length, 2.3 in narrower and 1.5 in lower. Those differences are measurable. The 0.2 lb weight change is much smaller, so do not substitute it for an actual lift test.
Newborn parts inventory
UPPAbaby's official V2 material lists the stroller seat from 3 months to 50 lb. A V2 can still form a from-birth setup with the appropriate Bassinet or Aria/Mesa infant car seat and adapters; UPPAbaby separately states that the older From Birth Kit is not compatible with V2. The V3 is listed from 0–50 lb and adds carriage mode in the seat, while adapters support Mesa and Aria plus selected Maxi-Cosi, Nuna and Cybex infant seats.
- Write down every V2 part you already own and would actually reuse.
- Write down every piece the planned V3 setup would remove, replace or still require.
- Count a V3 newborn advantage only when carriage mode removes a purchase, a transfer step or a storage burden in your household.
Record the verdict
Keep V2 when it passes the measured storage test, the child is past the newborn-seat stage or the compatible newborn parts are already owned. Upgrade to V3 when its smaller folded dimensions change a failed storage result to a pass, or when in-seat carriage mode removes a real part from the newborn plan. For a new buyer, choose the generation and configuration that passes the worksheet; the 0.2 lb difference should not decide by itself.
