A coordinated Natart room works best when the collection fits the whole plan, not just the wall behind the crib. Kyoto is the compact choice: its convertible crib is 55 x 31 x 45 inches and its double dresser is 46 inches wide. Taylor gives the crib and headboard more presence at 60 x 33 x 49 inches, with 48- and 61-inch dresser options. Toscano sits between those crib footprints at 56 x 30.5 x 51 inches, then offers the broadest storage range of the three.
That makes the first decision surprisingly clear. Choose the crib architecture and long-term room role first; choose the storage form second. A matching finish cannot rescue a set that blocks a door, leaves no sensible chair position or puts the crib beside a cord or heat source.
Choose the collection by the job it must do
| Collection | Convertible crib size (L x D x H) | Storage direction | Best starting point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kyoto | 55 x 31 x 45 in | 46-inch double dresser; narrow 24-inch lingerie chest | A smaller room where wall width is limited but a tall-headboard crib is still wanted |
| Taylor | 60 x 33 x 49 in | 48-inch double dresser or 61-inch king dresser | A room that can support a larger framed headboard and either compact or wide storage |
| Toscano | 56 x 30.5 x 51 in | 57-inch double dresser, 66-inch king dresser or 38.5-inch tall chest | A larger storage plan and an all-wood statement headboard with decorative molding |
Natart publishes the crib dimensions and conversion paths on its Kyoto, Taylor and Toscano product pages. The dimensions above are exterior crib measurements; they do not include walking space, a chair, a dresser or open drawers.
Start with Kyoto when the room is genuinely compact
The Kyoto 5-in-1 Convertible Crib with Upholstered Panel is the shortest of these three cribs and has the lowest tall headboard. It uses smooth oak, a semi-encased buttonless upholstered panel and a wood mattress support with three adjustable heights. Natart lists later toddler-bed, daybed and 54-inch-bed configurations.
Kyoto's room advantage becomes clearer when storage is added. The Kyoto Double Dresser is 46 x 20 x 34 inches. Natart also offers a 24-inch-wide lingerie chest in the collection, so a narrow wall can carry vertical storage without forcing the crib itself into an awkward position.
Choose Kyoto when the 55-inch crib length and 46-inch dresser width solve two separate room constraints. Do not choose it merely because “compact” sounds safer: the room still needs clear access to the crib, space for drawers to open and a wall where the dresser can be anchored as directed.
Choose Taylor when the headboard should lead the room
Taylor is the largest crib footprint in this comparison. The Taylor 5-in-1 Convertible Crib with Channel-Tufted Panel measures 60 x 33 x 49 inches. Its framed headboard and channel-tufted linen-weave panel create a stronger visual centre than Kyoto, while the listed conversion route also continues through toddler bed, daybed and 54-inch bed.
The storage choice can then follow the room rather than dictate it. The Taylor Double Dresser is 48 x 21 x 34 inches, close to Kyoto's compact width. The Taylor King Dresser expands to 61 inches wide without changing the crib collection. That makes Taylor useful when the crib style is settled but the storage wall could support either a moderate or a broad cabinet.
Choose Taylor only when the 60-by-33-inch crib works before the dresser is added. If the tall framed headboard is appealing but that footprint crowds the route, the Taylor Island Crib is a different architecture: Natart lists it at 54 x 29 x 34 inches with a toddler-bed and daybed path, not the convertible crib's later 54-inch-bed route.
Choose Toscano when you need more storage options
Toscano's convertible crib measures 56 x 30.5 x 51 inches. It is only one inch longer than Kyoto and is slightly shallower, but the all-wood decorative headboard is six inches taller. Natart describes an ash-wood structure, three mattress-support heights and a later toddler, daybed and 54-inch-bed path.
The collection's defining room decision is storage scale. The Toscano 57-inch Double Dresser is already nine inches wider than Taylor Double. The Toscano 66-inch King Dresser needs a genuinely long wall, while the 38.5-inch-wide tall chest exchanges wall width for a 54.5-inch cabinet height.
Toscano is therefore not simply the middle-size crib. It is the collection to consider when the household has already decided whether it wants broad low storage, a very wide cabinet or a tall chest. The detailed choice between those storage forms deserves its own decision; at the whole-room stage, reserve the wall and confirm that the crib still has the right location.
Place the crib before filling the remaining walls
Health Canada advises keeping a crib away from window-covering cords, electrical cords, lamps and other items a baby could reach. It also says the sleep surface should be a firm, flat mattress with a tightly fitted sheet, with no gaps at the sides and no pillows, bumper pads, quilts, toys, mattress toppers or positioners in the crib.
Use those conditions to choose the crib wall before assigning storage. A beautiful wall under a window may be the wrong location if it puts cords within reach. Keep furniture away from heating and air-conditioning sources according to Natart's care directions and the appliance manufacturer's placement instructions. The exact crib assembly instructions remain the authority for the crib and its mattress-support positions.
Once the crib wall is fixed, place the chair where a caregiver can approach it without crossing the crib's working side. Then assign storage to an anchorable wall. This sequence prevents a wide dresser from consuming the only crib location that satisfies the safety and access constraints.
Keep anchoring and conversion in the same plan
Health Canada advises anchoring furniture to the wall with the appropriate anti-tip device and following the manufacturer's instructions. It also recommends placing heavier items in lower drawers, closing drawers when they are not in use and opening one drawer at a time.
That means the dresser's wall must support the required installation; it is not just an empty rectangle. Avoid a layout that places tempting toys or display objects on top where a child may try to climb for them. The anchoring plan belongs in the room decision before delivery, not after the cabinet is filled.
Conversion deserves the same realism. A crib that can become a 54-inch bed does not mean every later component is in the crib carton, and the future bed will require more room than the crib. If that stage matters, identify the exact matching conversion parts and test the future bed position before choosing a wide dresser for the only long wall.
The whole-room recommendation
Choose Kyoto when a 55-inch crib, 46-inch double dresser and narrow vertical-storage option solve a genuinely constrained room. Choose Taylor when the larger framed headboard is a deliberate focal point and the room can pair it with either a 48- or 61-inch dresser. Choose Toscano when the all-wood tall headboard and wider range of low or tall storage forms match a larger, storage-led plan.
The matching finish comes last. The useful set is the one that gives the crib a safe location, the dresser an anchorable wall, the chair a workable approach and the future bed a plausible place to go.
