Coccoli Sleepwear: Choose by Fabric, Fit and Care

Coccoli sleepwear is often considered because the fabric feels soft. The useful purchase decision comes from the fibre label, seams and zipper arrangement, current size chart, garment fit and care instructions.

When skin is a concern, inspect the contact points that can be seen and felt: neckline, zipper guard, cuffs, seams and labels. Follow the care directions, and stop using a garment that causes a problem. Ask the child's health professional about a persistent skin concern.

Read the full label, not only “modal”

The inner placket places fabric between the zipper and the body, while the hidden two-way zipper can open from either end for changes. Inspect both areas once the garment is on: the placket should lie flat and the top of the zipper should sit as designed.

Use the size chart as measurements, not a prediction

Coccoli's current baby chart lists both height and weight bands. For the Plush footie, baby enRoute currently lists 1M, 3M, 6M, 9M and 12M. If height points to one size and weight to another, pay particular attention to shoulder-to-foot length, neckline position and room through the torso.

Health Canada says baby sleepwear should fit well and warns that oversized garments can ride over the nose and mouth. It also recommends checking sleepwear for loose snaps, zipper pulls, small parts and threads. Apply that inspection to every brand, not just Coccoli.

Inspect four contact points

1. Neck and chin: confirm the top of the zipper and fabric guard lie as designed without a hard edge pressing the skin.
2. Inner zipper path: flatten the placket and make sure it has not folded away from the zipper.
3. Cuffs and heel: check for deep marks, twisting or persistent bunching that signals a fit issue.
4. Seams and labels: inspect rather than assuming a fibre name determines how every seam will feel to this child.

Decide before purchase whether that fits the household routine. Washing with rough items or repeatedly using hotter settings than the label directs adds a variable when you are trying to understand how the garment fits and feels over time.

Use a familiar detergent according to its instructions when changing garments, rather than introducing several new laundry variables at once. This makes it easier to judge the garment's fit and feel after washing.

Footie, two-piece or sleep sack?

If a sleep sack is used, follow Health Canada's direction to choose the correct size and one appropriate to the room. Do not add a blanket with it, and do not use weighted sleep products for a baby.
