Carrying Positions

• Newborn/front inward carry: from birth, once baby is at least 19.6 in and 7 lbs.
• Front inward carry: keeps baby close and supported as they grow.
• Front outward carry: for babies with good head control, usually from about 4–6 months; CYBEX recommends about 20 minutes at a time.
• Back inward carry: from about 6 months.
